Overview
Sparkle without the drill
Tooth jewellery is a fun, completely non-invasive way to add a little personality and shine to your smile. A small premium gem is bonded to the surface of a tooth using the same safe technique as a dental filling.
The process involves no drilling, no needles and no damage to your natural enamel. It is quick, painless and entirely reversible should you ever wish to remove it.
Whether you want a discreet glint or a statement sparkle, we apply each gem precisely so it sits securely and catches the light beautifully. You can start with a single small gem and decide later whether you would like to change it.
Because tooth jewellery is placed in a dental clinic rather than a salon, your teeth and gums are checked first and the gem is bonded with professional dental materials under strict hygiene. At World Dental Care in Amritsar, we treat even a small cosmetic touch with the same care as any other treatment.
Is it right for you?
Who it's for and is it right for you
Tooth jewellery suits many people who want a little extra sparkle. These are some of the situations where it works well, and when your dentist may suggest waiting.
- You want a touch of personalityA small gem is a simple way to express your style without changing the shape or colour of your teeth. Many people enjoy it as a subtle, playful detail that only shows when they smile.
- A special occasion is coming upWeddings, festivals, birthdays and celebrations are popular times to add some sparkle. Because the gem is applied in minutes, it fits easily around a busy schedule.
- You prefer something reversibleIf you like the idea of a cosmetic change but do not want anything permanent, tooth jewellery is ideal. The gem can be removed later, leaving your tooth as it was.
- Your teeth and gums are healthyGems bond best to clean, healthy enamel. If we find decay or gum inflammation, we will usually suggest treating that first so the gem sits on a sound tooth.
- You visit from abroad or out of townAs the application is quick and needs no follow-up appointment in most cases, it is easy to add to a visit for other treatment or a check-up.
- When it may not suit youIf you are wearing fixed braces, have a lot of plaque build-up, or the chosen tooth has a large filling, your dentist may recommend a different tooth or advise waiting.
Treatment options
Glamour, safely applied
Here is why tooth jewellery has become a popular cosmetic choice, and what makes our approach safe and long-lasting.
No drilling
Gems are bonded to the enamel surface only, so your natural tooth structure is never touched or harmed. Nothing is cut away, and there is no need to reshape the tooth.
Completely painless
The application takes only minutes, with no needles and no discomfort. Most people are surprised at how simple it feels, rather like having a tooth polished.
Fully reversible
Should you change your mind, the gem can be removed cleanly, leaving your tooth exactly as it was. The surface is then polished smooth so there is no trace left behind.
Premium quality gems
We use high-quality crystals and gold-backed gems that sparkle brilliantly and resist dulling. We can show you the available options so you can see how each one catches the light.
Secure and durable
Bonded with professional dental materials, your gem stays firmly in place through everyday eating and brushing. The same type of adhesive is used for tooth-coloured fillings.
Personalised placement
We help you choose the gem and position that best suits your smile, from subtle to striking. An upper front or side tooth often shows the sparkle best when you smile.
Step by step
How your tooth gem is applied
- 1
Quick check and consultation
We take a look at your teeth and gums to make sure they are healthy, talk about the look you would like, and answer any questions you have.
- 2
Choosing your gem
You choose the gem and we help you decide on the best tooth and the exact position, using a mirror so you can see how it will look before anything is placed.
- 3
Cleaning and preparing
The tooth surface is gently cleaned and dried so the adhesive can bond well. Your natural enamel is not drilled or reshaped.
- 4
Bonding the gem
A small amount of tooth-coloured dental adhesive is applied, the gem is placed precisely, and a special light sets the material firmly in seconds.
- 5
Final check
We check that the edges are smooth and comfortable against your lip, then share simple aftercare tips. The whole visit is usually quick, and you can go straight back to your day.

Aftercare
Caring for your tooth gem
Tooth gems need very little special care. A few simple habits help your sparkle last as long as possible.
Go gently for the first day
The adhesive sets straight away, but for the first 24 hours it is sensible to avoid very hard or sticky foods and to brush around the gem gently.
Brush and floss as normal
Keep brushing twice a day with a soft toothbrush. Clean carefully around the gem so plaque does not build up at its edges.
Avoid picking or biting
Try not to touch the gem with your tongue or fingernails, and avoid biting hard objects such as pens or ice, which can loosen it.
Keep up your check-ups
Continue your regular dental visits. We can check the gem at the same time and polish around it during your routine cleaning. Let us know if the edges ever feel rough or you notice any change in the tooth.
If it comes loose
If your gem comes off, keep it if you can and call or WhatsApp us. It can usually be re-applied simply. If you think it may have been swallowed and you feel unwell, seek medical advice.
